It's a Piece of Cake to Bake a Pretty Cake

By Dan 2006-07-03 02:53:27

Well, I'm tired of seeing Haruhi's face, so I guess I'll post things.

Been about a month; plenty has happened. More than one LAN, and a shit-ton of robotics. A shit-ton, for those not "in the know," is less than a fuck-ton, but more than an ass-load. Certainly much less than a metric shit-load. This is, of course, taken from the International System of Units (more information can be found here). Outreach and that sort of thing on the Wheeler end, and Tin Building Adventures on the Georgia Tech end. Wheeler is participating in the Marietta Freedom Parade tomorrow, which is fun.

While I might tire of Haruhi's face, I did enjoy having a picture there. Kind of spruced things up. So here's a few relevant ones.

I finally got around to reading The Authority the other day. While I've never been a fan of the ultra-violent bullshit that came about as a result of the EXTREME 90's, I gotta say, I really enjoyed it. Apparently, toward the end of the decade, Wildstorm decided to not suck. I recommend reading it, if the picture hasn't encouraged you enough. They're superheroes in the loosest sense of the word. While they are super and, usually, heroic; they use their God-like powers to introduce real change. Hell, in volume two they actually take over the United States, because they think they can run it better. Mouse over (or highlight, you goddamn Internet Explorer users) that for spoilers. Anyway, the point is, go read it.

Here's the RoboJacket BattleBot. I know nothing about it, but thought you might want to see it.

MegaMan X8 is incredible.

No, really.

In more relevant news, my car got totalled. I always figured it would die by my hand, but that wasn't the case. My dad was driving it, and someone hydroplaned into him. No one was hurt, except my car. You can't see there, but the engine was... somewhat unseated. Do note, however, the nigh-invulnerability of the GA Tech license plate, which came out unscathed.

Despite the tragic passing of my car, there was a silver lining; I got a new car. It's nice, I like it. As Stefan (he took that picture, by the way) pointed out, "fuck i just reazed ur car is the color that belnds in with everything". This is due to optic camouflage, and don't let anyone else tell you differently.

I think that's it. See you next time.

EDIT: Yoink.

Not that anyone cares, but me and Stefan were talking about the right order for The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi.

I'll bet you didn't know Stefan was such an anime fan.

If you've never seen it, the episodes are shown out of order. You can find out the actual episode number during the next episode preview of each one. So based on that, the order is...

Episode 01 - Episode 11: The Adventures of Mikuru Asahina Episode 00

Episode 02 - Episode 01: The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi I

Episode 03 - Episode 02: The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi II

Episode 04 - Episode 07: The Boredom of Suzumiya Haruhi

Episode 05 - Episode 03: The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi III

Episode 06 - Episode 09: Remote Island Syndrome (Part One)

Episode 07 - Episode 08: Mysterique Sign

Episode 08 - Episode 10: Remote Island Syndrome (Part Two)

Episode 09 - Episode 14: Someday in the Rain

Episode 10 - Episode 04: The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi IV

Episode 11 - Episode 13: Day of Sagittarius

Episode 12 - Episode 12: Live a Live

Episode 13 - Episode 5: The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi V

Episode 14 - Episode 6: The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi VI

02, 03, 05, 10, 13, 14, 04, 07, 06, 08, 01, 12, 11, 09

Episode one is probably 11; it was referenced in 14 and can't be 12 or 13 and has to be after 10. You don't know cause you can't have a next episode preview for the first episode.

Maybe it'll be in the last one. Heh.

Like I said, I'm sure no one cares, this is an entirely self-serving post (though, aren't they all?).

I might update it weekly, because I'm such a fucking nerd.

Okay then, you're dismissed.

ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME

Sony: "When Nintendo launched its N64 in 1996 it also had 3D graphics, did we say, 'Nintendo stole our idea!'? Obviously not. Such innovations become possible because of a combination of technology, cost and manufacture capacities."

Some Title

By Dan 2006-05-28 02:12:41

Ahaha, my cousin (14) is in the next room whistling to You Can't Always Get What You Want. Except he seems to be making up a new tune.

YES HE'S SINGING.

Sorry.

Anyway, I'm here in Arkansas, getting as crunk as one can in a town of 12,000 (which is huge; it's surrounded by towns like Pindall (pop. 85) and Endsvile (pop. 76)) in the middle of the Ozark mountains. There's internet. It's not the fastest (I doubt we're anywhere near the central office), but it's good. Most of my family's here, and that's cool. Bonus, I'm actually one of the tallest ones. Heh. It's fun, despite being completely different from home.

I have no idea how long I'm going to be here... I think I might be back around Thursday-ish. I heard some people had a mini-lan without me, which is unacfuckingceptable. My vengeance will be swift and just.

Blah blah blah, probably some other stuff. I'm gone.

On the road

I think I am in Mississippi, but I really have no idea. I got internet working on my dad's phone (and installed Gtalk) so I said hey, I should probably post. So here I am. All hail the new posting system.

I should be in Arkansas in a few hours, perhaps with a real computer. We'll see. Anyway, this is annoying so bye.

AR

Fun fact: Sam likes to bitch... a lot. "Make me a site, Dan," he says and I, in my infinite benevolence, do. Now he wants me to actually post. He's fucking crazy, that one.

So, this Friday I'm going out of town. Where, you ask? The beach? Another country? Some exotic locale? You're crazy. I'm going to visit my family in Arkansas. Yes, Arkansas. As in, "Arkansas- Now with Internet!" or "Arkansas- Maybe You'll Get a Cell Signal!". Not the most terribly exciting place, but my dad's side of the family is there, so there we shall go. They're all cool, though, so that's good. Armed with my trusty laptop, DS, and precious, precious remote desktop connection, I should be A-OK.

All you senior highschool people, I'm sorry I'm gonna miss your graduation. I would have totally snuck into it. Congratulations, regardless.

On a completely unrelated note, The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi is incredible.

I think that's it.

So, you may have noticed things are a little different. Besides being on a different server, Sam Eisen is now here. And, because of his bitching, I ended up rewriting the whole damn site to be easier to use. So that's good, cause now I might actually be unlazy enough to update.
